The design and fit-out of new offices at 2 Waterhouse Square, delivered by Area for Constituency Management Group (CMG), has won Workplace Retrofit at Greenbuild Awards 2013.
Area worked in conjunction with commercial property consultants Cushman & Wakefield and environmental consultant Alphacello to deliver the new office for client CMG (part of InterPublic Group). Embedding sustainability into the historic Grade II listed office environment at Waterhouse Square was key for marketing and communications company CMG, resulting in the project also collecting gold for their RICS Ska Rating.
Waste management strategies were central to success, with 87% of all waste diverted from landfill. Area also installed and integrated all of the office’s energy consuming systems into the existing Building Management System (BMS). “The Greenbuild Awards celebrate truly sustainable buildings and so we are delighted that Waterhouse Square won the Workplace Retrofit award” says Sion Davies, Managing Director of Area London.
