Professional services company, Grant Thornton, has been awarded the “Workplace Environment” accolade at this year’s South Coast Property Awards for its refurbished workspace on Southampton Science Park.
The award recognises a company that has used their property strategy to create: quality, design-led working styles; increased productivity; innovative working environments; and open and inclusive working environments.
Area had completed a series of projects for Grant Thornton, which support the agile working model being rolled our across their offices in the UK, when we were tasked to refurbish their existing space in Southampton.
Carl Burne, Head of Business Development for Area, comments:
“Grant Thornton have been, and continue to be, a fantastic client of Area’s, and we’re delighted they have won this award. They have a truly inspiring vision for their property strategy in the UK, and the Southampton project is a great example of how businesses can efficiently utilise less space while maximising its potential.
Originally occupying 20,000 sq ft of space, Grant Thornton saw a big opportunity for change and reduced its accommodated space to 3,000 sq ft. With no typical desking or working areas, the newly designed workspace incorporates a hub, which includes a boardroom, meeting rooms and a flexible seminar space.”
The South Coast Property Awards is the leading property event in the Solent region. Now in its third year, the event rewards outstanding projects in both commercial and residential property sectors.
