Area’s parent company, Fourfront Group, attended a corporate thank-you event hosted by Surrey-based children’s hospice charity Shooting Star Chase.

The event was held at Twickenham Stadium, and celebrated the fundraising efforts of Shooting Star Chase’s corporate partners over the past year.

Fourfront Group were awarded with two of the six awards given out on the evening; the ‘Volunteering Champions’ award, and Area’s Justin Lewis was presented with the ‘Outstanding Individual Corporate Fundraiser’ award.

In the autumn of 2017, Fourfont staff volunteered over 300 hours of their time at the charity’s Guildford-based hospice, Christopher’s. Time was spent gardening, fence painting, building a mud kitchen and constructing new play equipment. Some staff even gave up their weekends to help set up rooms following the refurbishment at Christopher’s.

Area’s Head of Client Support, Justin Lewis, was awarded with the ‘Outstanding Individual Corporate Fundraiser’ award in recognition for his work in refurbishing Christopher’s reception area.

Justin, alongside a team of sub-contractors, provided their services and materials free of charge to refurbish the reception space, which resulted in a welcoming environment being created to help make children and visitors as comfortable as possible.

James Cornwell, Quality and Environmental Director and Head of the Group’s charity committee, said: “We are so proud to have supported Shooting Star Chase for over ten years now. Supporting charitable causes is a big part of Fourfront Group’s culture, and since 2008, people from across the Group have been running, skydiving, walking, abseiling, cycling and volunteering to raise money for this hugely worthwhile cause. It’s an honour to be recognised for these efforts – here’s to the next ten years!”

Fourfront has been supporting Shooting Star Chase since 2008 and through various fundraising events, has raised nearly £400,000 for this fantastic cause.
