Following news of Area’s launch into Europe earlier this month, we’re delighted to announce that two of Area’s previous employees will be re-joining the business in two key positions.
Technical designer Jonny Soyka was with Area for seven years previously and instrumental in delivering successful projects for over 50 clients including easyJet, Lego and The Royal College of Psychiatrists. Jonny re-joins as European Design Manager and will be working with the wider European team to deliver projects across mainland Europe.
Having previously been with Area for eleven years, Nick Thorne held numerous positions within the business, starting as a Project Manager before moving to a Contracts Director position and finally as a Commercial Director for Area’s Detail & Build team. Nick re-joins as Head of Operations for Area Europe’s team and will play a vital role in ensuring projects are delivered in line with Area’s Excellence in Delivery programme.
Gary Chandler, CEO of Area and the wider Fourfront Group, comments: “It’s fantastic to be welcoming back Nick and Jonny. They both are hugely experienced experts in their fields, and delivered exceptional work for Area in the past. Their re-appointment will massively strengthen our European team. We’re always delighted to welcome back exceptional former employees to the Fourfront family.”
Jonny Soyka comments: “This is a really exciting time to be coming back to Area. The business gave me the opportunity to deliver some spectacular projects in the past and I’m looking forward to working with the team. Supporting our clients with their global workplace portfolios and helping to position them as progressive employers across the whole of Europe is extremely exciting!”
Nick Thorne comments: “It has been quite a journey with Area and the wider Fourfront Group. It began back in 2006 quickly developing my skills and expertise within various roles across within the company. My decision to return stems from Area’s continued appetite to grow and expand into new markets. It is testament to the progression of this group of companies that the opportunity has arisen, and I am very pleased to be coming back to tackle new challenges with familiar faces.”
Showing our commitment to Europe and supporting our vision to become the leading globally connected workplace specialist, Area is now operational from 10 offices across mainland Europe, in addition to two existing offices in the UK.
