Area and its parent company Fourfront Group are once again taking part in a charity challenge to help support children’s hospice charity Shooting Star Chase.
An army of 80 staff from across the Group will be working alongside some of Area’s sub-contractors to transform the lounge and dining area at Shooting Star Chase’s Hampton site.
The team of volunteers will be helping to build, decorate and clean over the course of a fast track two-week programme to ensure the new space is operational as soon as possible.
Designed with magical trees, hot air balloons and bi-planes, the lounge and dining area will be a fun and exciting space for kids and their parents to enjoy. There will also be a display area where artwork can be shown and comfortable seating areas for families to use when they come to visit.
This ‘DIY SOS’ project follows a similar challenge Area undertook for Shooting Star Chase’s Christopher’s hospice in 2017. This project saw Area work alongside a host of sub-contractors to provide their services and materials free of charge to refurbish the reception space.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the sub-contractors taking part in this refurbishment. Without them donating their services, time and materials, this project would not be possible. Our special thanks goes to: Southern Fire, Eurotec, Sterling Site Supplies, Encore, Hawk Scaffolding, Bridgegate Electrical Ltd, Lawmens, RSR, Cablecomm, Synergy, Interiors Solutions London, JBL, Profixed, Carters, Amtico, Interface, Desso, Flortec, Interiors Europe, Vivid, Aztec, Artworks, Zip, Frovi, Zing Clean, Vantage Spaces, Edward Williams Furniture and JHB Building Services.
Leading the refurbishment is Area’s Head of Client Support and Charity Committee member, Justin Lewis. He comments: “We’re once again delighted to be volunteering our services to this very worthwhile cause. It’s overwhelming to see how many people have signed up to donate their time to deliver this project, and we cannot thank our sub-contractors enough for taking part again.”
James Cornwell, Area Director and Head of the Charity Committee, adds: “Area and the wider Fourfront Group have been supporting Shooting Star Chase for over 10 years and have raised over £400,000 for this very worthy cause. A number of events are already planned for 2019, and we hope this refurbishment will help kick start our mission to hit the £500,000 by the end of this year.”
