Playfish, now part of EA Games, set a challenging target when it asked Area to fit out its 10,000 sq ft office in London’s prestigious Sloane Square in just five weeks. Despite this tight schedule, the client wanted a visually impressive workspace that showcased the playful nature of its games and encouraged staff to collaborate.
Playfish changed the way people play games by giving them more connected experiences. So, our design reflected this highly social personality throughout its new office space: A vibrant colour-palette was used, along with its gaming characters as cool wall graphics and added eye-catching fish tanks. The picture was completed with funky furniture in the breakout areas supplied by our sister company, Sketch Studios.
"Who wouldn't love working with a client which has such a fantastic and fun brand identity? The playful nature of their brand really allowed us to go to town and push the boundaries of design. The finished result is something which works really well for the client and has helped created an enjoyable, vibrant place for their team to work."
Sion Davies, Managing Director, Area London
It’s a fine line between appearing playful and not being taken seriously. Our team worked hard to strike just the right balance with quirky yet classy office-design features, such as a highly polished plaster wall and pink glass splash-backs in the kitchens.
