When cloud contact centre and inside sales platform provider NewVoiceMedia came to the end of their lease, they relocated to a new building in Basingstoke. Currently undergoing a Cat A refurbishment by a separate contractor, Area were tasked with undertaking the Cat B development of all three floors within the building. Feeling disconnected in their existing premises, NewVoiceMedia’s new workplace needed to support cross-communication between the different departments, include excellent staff facilities and enhance collaboration. All of which needed to be delivered within an extremely tight timescale.
Working with a difficult internal structure, which includes a large central core, we worked closely with NewVoiceMedia’s project team to understand business adjacencies and how cross-communication amongst teams could be enhanced.
“NewVoiceMedia’s new workspace comprises a two-storey atrium, which includes a customer experience hub, giving visitors an opportunity to experience their state-of-the-art technology. The first storey includes a utilitarian, productive workspace for their developers and engineers, and the second floor provides a high-end executive meeting suite. One wing has been dedicated to staff facilities including a café and town hall meeting space. To navigate round the central core, connecting streets have been created on all floors.” Alex Marrs, Creative Manager, Area
Budget and timescale were the main considerations when delivering this project. We collaborated with NewVoiceMedia and their carefully appointed steering group committee to ensure their expectations were met, whilst the Cat B works were sensitively value engineered to ensure the project was delivered within budget. Close co-ordination with both the Cat A contractor and the Landlord meant the project was handed over to us on time, which in turn led to the Cat B works being completed within the timescale set.
