Exertis is the leading technology distributor of IT, Communications and Home Entertainment products in the UK. The business has nearly quadrupled in the last 5 years driving the need to relocate its Basingstoke offices to new premises. The move to Ashwood consolidates the company’s current 380 Basingstoke employees into one completely refurbished building which will house all commercial departments: sales, marketing, purchasing and the technical teams under one roof. Having completed the design and fit-out of their previous office, we were contracted to carry out the Cat A & B refurbishment for the new premises, providing general office space, meeting facilities, collaboration spaces and a new more social cafe space.
Working closely investment managers Patrizia, and the client’s project managers Alan Gregory Associates, we co-ordinated both landlord refurbishment and tenant works into a combined design and build solution. The building
was stripped back to its original shell and brought up to date with the installation of all new M&E services, air conditioning units, comms room, and energy efficient lighting. Toilet and shower facilities have also been completely rebuilt.
The design includes a large breakout area, café, a generous client meeting suite and a 24 hour NOC space for their call centre response team. The work spaces have been given a vibrant feel by the inclusion of graphic panels across walls, pillars and many open spaces representing both Exertis’ brand and also the technology brands that they sell.
Due to the building having to stay operational, a large generator was installed to keep the building running throughout the technically complex multifaceted project.
