When the BBC's commercial facilities arm, BBC Studios and Post Production, relocated from London's Television Centre, it saw a chance to brand itself as a leader in digital media services. The client wanted to achieve a more efficient production base that would raise awareness of the facilities on offer, as well as its high standards of work, reliability and security.
Purposeful interior design takes visitors on a journey through distinct zones for each area of specialist technology. The new site was an ideal blank canvas for this approach, in contrast to Television Centre's inherited layout. The well-considered floorplan now elegantly showcases the BBC's range of equipment and services while dedicated areas allow for informal meetings or break-out sessions. Our sister company, Sketch Studios, provided storage and furniture.
"Innovative design, best use of natural light and image graphics help take our business forward, while the layout creates a highly collaborative and technically efficient operation. The look and feel engenders confidence that customers are placing their irreplaceable assets in safe hands."

The key to the project was how light, temperature and sound were managed and optimised to enable precision work such as film restoration, editing and metadata manipulation. Acoustic walls, ceilings and panels were also installed to prevent sound transfer and interference.
