The objectives

The brief for this project required the internal refurbishment of four floors to create a standard befitting the prestigious Kensington location. The client asked for the creation of a destination reception area. It was also essential to replace and enhance the original period features of the building.

Our solution

We successfully completed the project with a mix of contemporary and traditional design features. The demolition of the internal core required the complete installation of a bespoke staircase and two new lift shafts.

Key challenges

Challenging aspects of the project included the full height scaffolding to the Sloane St elevation and safe removal of the staircase while maintaining access route through building. We successfully achieved this and also worked in conjunction with neighbouring luxury boutiques to ensure zero disruption to trading.

Technical aspects

A handmade glass balustrade and hardwood handrail were fitted to the main staircase. We installed a marble finish to stairs and polished plaster finish to lift lobbies. A new roof mounted air-conditioning plant was installed and video entry system was introduced to all floors.

"I would like to thank you and your team for your proactive input during this project."
