European Design Manager
Sean joined Area in 2015 and has been involved in some of our most challenging and exciting projects within the office, hospitality and retail sectors. He is responsible for leading the overall design & coordination process with the client’s consultant teams, and is particularly focussed on quality and detailing. Before joining Area he spent a year consulting in a freelance capacity for various boutique architectural studios and fit out companies. Prior to this he spent 8 years at an AJ100 London architectural practice involved in both interior and architectural projects, primarily for developer clients across the commercial and residential sectors.
European Head of Operations
Nick has worked for the Group for over 12 years, working for both the Egham & London offices. During his time with the Group, Nick firstly worked as a Project Manager for Area’s Regions team, then as Contracts Director for Area London, and finally as Commercial Director for the Detail & Build team.
Nick’s experience has led him into his new role as Head of European Operations. Nick is responsible for delivering projects for our international clients across all major cities in Europe. Nick is a hugely engaging and impressive individual. He has a detailed understanding of client project delivery, with skills ranging from financial & contract management to compliance, legislative and environmental awareness.
European Design Manager
Having qualified as an architect in 1997, Jonny has over 21 years’ experience in the Design and Build industry and has previously worked for various Architectural practices. Jonny’s skills and expertise have allowed his development into his role as European Design Manager. Jonny liaises with the various parties involved in a project, including the client and their professional team, landlord representatives, the main contractor and specialist subcontractors, which ensures the architectural and technical designs are fully coordinated in time for construction. Responsible for design coordination, Jonny also works closely with the internal Area design team from inception to completion.
European Account Director
James has over 15 years’ experience in design and office ft-out. His wealth of knowledge and passion for excellence has been instrumental in developing our market-leading position.
There from the start of planning through construction, handover and post-contract, James brings strong project management skills to the table. James plays an active role at the front end of the business, working with our major clients and ensuring our ‘client for life’ philosophy underpins everything we do.
European Project Director
Lee has 25 years of experience in the commercial office interiors sector. Specialising in interior & furniture design, workplace strategy and managing and directing fit-out projects, Lee’s wide range of experience lends itself perfectly to manage the entire project process. As project director, Lee drives the design, pre-contracts and construction elements of each project to ensure his client’s goals are met. Lee joined the Group in 2007 as a founding partner of Sketch Studios. Subsequently, he has worked across all the Group companies holding board level positions in each. His current role enables him to support existing clients with projects across Europe.
European Commercial Manager
Luke first joined the Group in 2015 before returning to university to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management.
Luke has a background in both delivery and commercials and has experience working in the detail and build and traditional markets, which all contribute to a well-rounded and broad outlook on the construction industry.
After joining Area in 2010, Hayley has taken on various roles within the company. Starting as a receptionist, Hayley has undertaken several roles across the business and is now upholding the role of Operations Administrator for the Area Europe Team. Co-ordinating travel requirements, minute taking and her involvement in the day-to-day running of the department, Hayley’s 15 years of admin experience ensures that the highest standards are always met.
