Gary is CEO of Area and the wider Fourfront Group. His wealth of knowledge and passion for delivering excellence has driven the business to develop the market-leading position it holds today.
Supporting the Group’s vision to be the leading, globally connected, workplace creator, he now works with an Executive Leadership Team to further drive and develop Area’s success.
When not working, Gary stays active by participating in triathlons and playing golf. He is also a supporter of Shooting Star Chase, Fourfront Group’s chosen charity.
Aki Stamatis is one of the founders of the Fourfront Group. He has unrivalled experience in the interiors industry, having held both director and non-executive positions with some of its leading companies.
He is behind key initiatives within the business such as the Fourfront Way, The Fourfront Academy, and Women in Fourfront, which have achieved recognition both inside and outside the industry. He has also both written articles and published research on construction management.
Aki’s passion for scuba diving has led him to travel the world and a diploma in reef biology. He is also a long-suffering but proud Leeds United supporter, musician and expert in all matters Blade Runner.
Group Design Director
James joined Area in 2009 after running an award-winning design consultancy.
Responsible for heading up the Design Department in the Regions, James is passionate about delivering innovative designs that are a true reflection our clients’ culture and brands. His work for leading organisations such as Cameron, McAfee, Openwork, Thunderhead.com and Citrix have often resulted in setting the standard for future office design and fit-out projects in UK and across Europe.
Outside of work James enjoys spending time with his family, swimming, skiing, motor sport and renovating his own period house.
Group Operations Director
Lee joined Fourfront Group as Operations Director in 2016, bringing over 25 years of experience with him. His focus is on Excellence and Delivery across every aspect of the Group.
His background is in major projects, having started working for Laing Management on the £500m British Library project in 1989. Lee has worked on numerous large projects, including the £6m refurbishment of the Grade Two Listed Centre Point for the CBI.
Outside of work, his hobbies include running, football and cooking. He has also been a Trustee of the dementia charity, Dementia Carers Count, since 2012.
Group Marketing Director
Guenaelle, our French Marketing Director has been working in the industry for over 15 years. She heads up the busy Marketing team and leads the development and implementation of the Group’s marketing strategy to support he business’s vision. Particular focus is given to our multichannel lead generation activities, thought Leadership programme and geographical expansion plans. Guenaelle is passionate about interiors, inside and outside work and when not in the office, busy looking after two very active boys!

Sion manages and facilitates the continued growth of Area in the vibrant London marketplace.
With 20 years of management experience within the sector, he ensures the highest levels of service, design and value for our clients. Sion’s understanding of the unique demands of client needs has helped establish Area as the capital’s market leader.
Sion is also a full time Welsh rugby fan and part time Under 7’s coach with a 100% white collar boxing record of 2 bouts and 2 defeats!
Justin has worked for the group for 12 years. He founded our furniture business Sketch in 2007 then in 2016 moved to a group Director role responsible for setting up the United Workplace in Australia, America and Dubai and our CRM system.
Justin is now Divisional director for our Area London design and build business. Achieving exceptional results through the team and people development are Justin’s area of passion. From initial client engagement to handover at the end of the project the desire and target is always to deliver excellence, Justin believes this end to end accountability is truly the Area differentiator.
Originally from a design background with a Degree in Interior Design, Calvin joined Area in 2009 with 20 years’ experience in design and project management in both traditional and design build arenas.
Having played an instrumental role in securing some of the most prestigious contracts that the business has completed to date, he was promoted to Sales Director in 2014 and subsequently Divisional Director in 2016. Calvin’s wealth of knowledge and passion for delivering excellence has driven the business to develop the market-leading position it holds today.
Steve is a professionally qualified Engineer and has been active in the Construction Industry for the past 38 years. Some 25 years ago he switched from engineering to construction.
During his career Steve has successfully managed and designed major projects for well-established organisations such as American Express, Deloitte Consulting, Twitter, Level 3 Communications and Dechert LLP. His background in construction and technical services engineering has given Steve the experience necessary to manage a highly motivated team within Area.
Chris established our Detail and Build division in 2015 and is an integral part of our leadership team. He has a fascination with client experience and constantly looks for ways to improve our service offering. Supporting the Group’s vision to be the leading, globally connected, workplace creator, he works with many of the UK's top Architects and Professional Services Organisations.
When not working, Chris stays active by playing golf and tennis. He is also a keen supporter Newcastle United Football Club.
Chief Financial Officer
Mark joined the board of Fourfront Group in January 2015 and brings with him extensive experience in financial leadership roles across a number of fast-moving and high-growth global organisations.
Mark has over 20 years of experience working with leadership teams to build and deliver business growth and change strategies including business acquisitions, new market entry strategies and financial systems implementation projects.
